Māori Cultural Centre

Arterra Interactive proudly supported Sydney Marae Alliance since 2020 on several initiatives, most notably in visualising the proposed Māori Cultural Center, Hyland Road Reserve. Through this collaboration, we created a series of visualisations, animations, interactive media, and gaming experiences - all essential in engaging the community and stakeholders, allowing them to experience the future vision of the centre. This partnership has demonstrated the power of combining cultural heritage with advanced visualisation technology to promote understanding and support among diverse communities.

Arterra Interactive have gamified the Cultural Centre and are developing an interactive video game allowing for a full interactive and immersive experience.

The members of the Sydney Marae Alliance carry the dreams and aspirations of the many before them. The 15.16-hectare site at Hyland Road Reserve will develop the first traditional Marae, a sacred meeting place for Maori communities outside Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Cumberland City Council has agreed to put a 20-year lease with Sydney Marae Alliance to build the first of its kind Maori Cultural Centre in Australia. The NSW Planning Authority and Cumberland Council granted Development Application approval in June 2024.
